Danone is a new member of the B CORP movement

The B Corp certificate is awarded to companies that skillfully combine business activities with sustainable and responsible development. Over the next eight years, Danone will expand its activities and programs in the protection and restoration of the planet's resources, sustainable and profitable growth and changes in nutritional attitudes, with particular emphasis on the promotion of the flexitarian diet. The audit of policies, practices and indicators in the field of sustainable development carried out by B Lab (an organization specialized in the assessment of ESG factors) confirms the efforts made so far and will allow the company to update its sustainable development strategy in the future. Although Danone already meets the B Corp standards, the company will develop a strategy of double commitment - combining economic growth with care for the climate and local communities.

- The status of B Corp is a distinction, but also a commitment. We join the global group of ESG leaders - we want to show the best practices used in Danone to other companies, but also to improve our current activities. Ruch B Corp is a place of knowledge exchange between leaders of conscious and responsible socially and ecologically responsible business. We are the first such a large company in Poland with the B Corp certificate. We want to encourage more companies to approach the certification process, and thus educate business and society about the need to transform business models in the face of the current climate and other challenges. We see our mission in it and we believe that we will be the engine of positive changes in Polish business - assures Marek Sumiła, Managing Director of Danone.

B Corp is an important stage for Danone in achieving long-term sustainable development goals, which requires the commitment of all employees.

- The B Corp certificate is an objective assessment of the activities that we have been implementing for years with our employees for the benefit of the environment and society. In our company, these activities are deeply rooted in the organizational culture. Thanks to the implemented standards and verification as part of B Corp certification, we are sure that the solutions we introduce are of high quality and respond to the social and environmental challenges that we face every day in Poland and in the world - says Marek Sumiła.

During the certification process, Danone's activities in five impact areas were assessed: customers, the environment, communities, management and employees. Among the initiatives assessed by B Lab, the following were particularly appreciated: the introduction of the Nutri-Score label on Danone product labels, the use of only electricity from renewable sources in the production and the reduction of water consumption in the factory in Bieruń and the inclusive structure of the organization - 50% . management positions are held by women in Danona.
